Force One SUV

Force Motors from Pune, known for its commercial vehicles has launched an SUV, Force One. A commercial vehicles manufacturer expanding into Indias growing passenger car market.

The design though not groundbreaking (a la 1990's) is interesting in that it does not continue Indian auto companies obsession with the Mercedes Benz G Wagon proportion. Boxy, upright screen, zero sex appeal.
See Tata Sumo, Spacio, Mahindra Bolero, ICML Rhino (varying degrees of success in achieving the G Wagon proportions).

The engine is sourced from MB, so going the G Wagon route design wise might have been a step too far.
This car reminds you more of the Isuzu Rodeo (and later GM rebadging Vauxhall/Opel/Holden Frontera)
from the 90s, in particular from the side view.

Lamp details are contemporary even stretching to LEDs but still looking a bit naively executed as are the bulbous wheel arches, sitting uncomfortably on a flat shoulderless bodyside. The roof spoiler looks like a boy racer add on that misses the opportunity to actually do something functional like for example direct airflow to the rear window and keep it clean, instead choosing to sit far forward trying to look pretty.

This vehicle will probably sell in the beginning but with ever improving design from indian competition it will struggle.
